At a glance: No fear Shakespeare – As You Like it

via Goodreads

HC&B. Doesn’t seem like I talk a lot about books if you’ve browsed around or have been around here for a while. The truth is that I do read, and if there is such a thing, it would appear that I read ‘too much’. Reviewing is not my forte but I want to make an effort, that was one of the initial purpose of this blog and it firmly remains so. I’ve signed up for Karie Slagger’s reading & reviewing challenge early Feb or late Jan, but I’ve put a block on any serious reading marathon because of exams this year end but I plan to still keep up appearances and staying true to me I want to talk about books before I read them so I get to unwind before the reviewing process.

Today I’ll be touching on the Spark Notes No Fear Shakespeare: As You Like It. I was first introduced to Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice in 10th grade and I actually took to it instead to Fences by August Wilson, which up till this day my literature teacher never suspected that I hadn’t finished. Though there were references to the out dated and historical phrases and also the ones Shakespeare invented on the other page, it was a pain in the hiney to look back and forth but heaven knows how I read in a straight line.

A thought on motivation … and a Monday quote

(via nextwallpapers.net)

One thing that I have come to realize is that to keep on going towards my goals is that I need constant encouragement, be it from others or myself, and fresh inspiration to be motivated. Motivation is a thing that when it comes it doesn’t stay for too long unless you entertain it and make it feel welcome. So it’s like a guest, a very important one.

Quote for Monday brought to you by the groovy folks at Goodreads

Life is not so idiotically mathematical that only the big eat the small; it is just as common for a bee to kill a lion or at least to drive it mad.

August Strindberg

The Swedish dramatist was born on this day in 1849.

If that isn’t even a bit motivational then I don’t know what is. And what a coinkydink!

I think at this point it will be humanitarian of me to wish everyone a pleasant Monday 🙂

My books so far …

According to my book count on Goodreads, I have read 165 books in total and some more if you count the ones I can’t remember reading, there are a few that I can’t recall their names so they weren’t recorded. I’m not writing all this to show off (though I am proud of myself) it’s just to tally up and summarize what I’ve read up till now.

I began this year with a paltry twenty books because I knew this will be a busy year (but it’s funny though that I don’t feel as busy as I should) The other day after completing the initial 20 books I ramped it up to 50, so I have 30 more to read before 2013 and leaving me currently 13 books behind.

*sighs* I hope by the end of November I’ll catch up again.

These days I’ve been reading quit a lot of urban fantasy and sprinkles of YA here and there but I want to fit some dystopia and classics in as well. Here are a couple of lists. Oh yes, there are lists but these aren’t that long.
