It this time of the year again, a time of giving a time of thanks, a time for family and friends. A time of celebration. A time for cake and ice cream! And the challenge of resisting them … that’s already a battle lost …
I’ve noticed that it’s every year I lose the feeling of the holiday spirit, it just could be me, it might be due to losing my childish innocence, I don’t really know why. As we get older the novelty of Christmas wears off. It’s really sad but the little kids are the lucky ones, they live in the moment oblivious to the processes of growing up. I envy them, I have always said that I’d never want to grow up but one just can’t get away from the inevitable. I still don’t wanna grow up!
For me, it’s a Christmas at home this year with the family
*coughs* annoying siblings *coughs* and a Christmas at home is the best kind there is! We’re all decked up with lights and decorations and a little Christmas tree.Yesterday was our gift exchange at work to day and I got this cute little necklace!
I work part time in the Money Gram branch in our area and let me tell you guys, standing up yesterday for three hours straight wasn’t easy! There I stood bare feet (I ran out of the house with the first pair of footwear I grabbed, which unfortunately were wedge-heels) behind the counter, rushing in and out of the cash drawer, Christmas jingles blaring over the speakers, praying to God above that I don’t give out the wrong sum. I shouldn’t be the one to complain because the other girl was there since eight that morning!
Around 1PM the Internet decided that it was the perfect time to go and die on us! It was for more than half of an hour it was offline. Bless you Mike the technician! Curse you stupid faulty Internet connection! Uh … I should take that back … Them angelic customers were all for pitchforking us! With today’s crowd my feet are screaming since it’s Christmas Eve we were even busier, 6 hours and counting on our feet!
The Christmas tree under which lies a little village with Mr. and Mrs. Clause in the front. This is at the local bakery. Picture courtesy of yours truly.
The tree and many of its decorations in the picture above are relatively new. I remember the old one, I liked that one better, we used to help dress it up and it held a lot of fond memories *sigh*

As I write this, I’m singing along to Michael Buble’s “White Christmas” ft. Shania Twain. Oh man, how I’ve fallen in love with his beautiful voice!
Oooh!Ooh! Check out this dude:
Santy Clause! He's such a hotty:P
Santa here sings Jingle Bell Rock all the day long (or as long he’s plugged in) and dances while he does! I’ve gotten early presents this year and my favourites being the books I got to choose. Thanks Granny! The said books being Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and J.R.R Tolkein’s The Fellowship of the Ring.
My copy of The Da Vinci Code, an illustrated edition.
I’ve gotten a good lot this year but didn’t feel I’ve given as much … it’s more of the giving than the getting but I’ve got smiles and Merry Christmases in abundance! This holiday season has been good so far except the various times my dad and his brother tells me that I’ve gotten fat, they only kid around but it still stings a bit even though I ignore them. I mean, come on people, I know I’m fat so you don’t need to shove it in my face ever so often. Joke or not but I play tough girl and tell them to shove it, in my mind of course! Pity party’s over so don’t worry.
I’ll post my New Years Resolutions soon and I can only hope I stand by all of them this year. It’s going to be a rainy Christmas this year in my part of the world, it’s now 30 degrees C, how is it where you live? Enjoying the holiday so far?
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Peaceful New Year! I am now mentally giving all of you a big hug!
