I’d read A Game of Thrones a few months before so it only took me a little while to get reacquainted with everyone and all that had happened. A Clash of Kings is a bloody good (spot the pun!) second book. The people, the places, the treason, it’s all so realistic and I can’t help but be emotionally invested.
Theon was somewhat of a surprise. I understand what drove him, what ate at him but he was impatient and too full of himself. I hate him for what he did to Winterfell and I so so hate him what he’s done to further split the Stark children apart. At the same time though, I felt sorry for the fool but that pride is a terrible thing.
The expedition beyond the wall was exciting to be sure. He hadn’t known what he was in for when he joined the Night’s Watch but it’s becoming clear to me it’s where Jon’s supposed to be. Who is he other than the bastard of Winterfell? The trials he’s to grapple with and battles he sure to face ahead will challenge and shape him and perhaps eventually he’ll begin to learn what sort of stuff he’s made of. I am itching to know what the wildlings are up to. When will we finally see this King Beyond The Wall?
Bran. I don’t know what to say. He’s the one in the most precarious situation, him and Rickon. Even cripples have to fight. I hope to god that Osha is as good as her word.
Tyrion Lannister is the black sheep of that lot, in more ways than one. He knows what Cerci and Jaime had been up to, he knows what those of his house are capable of. So so very unlike Ned Stark, he keeps what has been under wraps, biding time, and playing chess and still remain loyal to his house. While being Hand of the King he does what he can for the realm, not for himself.
Okay I mean, fine Continue reading

The original post was accidentally deleted, I should have known better than to post on a phone. I hadn’t in me to do it all over again just then. Saturdays used to be my favourite day, until it was resigned to calculus classes instead of waking up late and reading for a few hours. Calculus, I have feeling it will lead me into trouble one of these days, forgive me but I can’t elaborate on that at the moment. Let me just say that I’m suffering from a bad case of scrambled brains.
I’m afraid to pick up a book to read lately for a few of reasons: A Game of Thrones is getting nerve racking so I must take a breather least I go into cardiac arrest; secondly, I really need sleep; thirdly, I have to push in more time for school work added to the work I have to do in the evenings. So you can imagine the time juggling I must do. I don’t like the idea of staying up late again, after successfully accomplishing the difficult task of sleeping early I would really hate to resume my midnight wakes, but it looks like I have no choice.
I’m finding it a problem to post for the past couple of weeks, I mean the ideas are there but I can’t seem to settle on one at the time. My mood has fluctuated lately, nothing to worry about I suppose, but I think it is slowly getting to me. Pinterest keeps me up with the streams of positive, feel-good quotes and sayings but for how long will it work and for how long will I be stranded in this current I’m surfing? Continue reading
Oh my goodness! I’ve heard the hype flying around with this series last year and I said to myself why the heck not? Okay so I went to Barnes and Noble for the first time when I was on vacation and I was this on one of their beautiful shelves. I couldn’t pass it like that! I think it was the direwolves that called me. It had to be, and they’re pretty awesome. I hope I can find the other books at my usual book store otherwise I’m stuck with a darn Kindle app.
I’m 175 pages through so far as I write this and I have to know what going to happen next. Sometimes I’m afraid to go on because it’s too much but then if I don’t I won’t ever know what happens, or who dies, who get’s the Iron Throne? So I persevere! I said in an update on Goodreads that I went to YouTube against my better judgement, I just wanted to see how the characters looked like, but no I couldn’t satisfy my curiosity with a couple of videos. I came across a retched spoiler, I knew one of the people I have come to love will die. I take a moment now. But I haven’t got to that part yet so I’ll pretend I don’t know. That is pointless, my friends. Spoilers do not let you forget. I understand YT but come on Goodreads reviewers! For the sake of our reading experience and our tender hearts (tenderness depending on who got beheaded, and it’s a book we happen to adore) please utilize the spoiler feature. Crikey, man.
