So what exactly is a Christmas cactus? Keep reading to find out.
Christmas cactus(Schlumbergera)
epiphytic cactus of Brazilian ancestry widely cultivated as a houseplant having jointed flat segments and usually rose-purple flowers that bloom in winter.
Yep, it sure is. There are several species that have flowers but even fewer that have leaves, which eventually fall off. I remember for an episode of the educational cartoon ‘Hey Buster’, Buster a rabbit that travels around the world goes to a Mexican desert where the locals show him how to make rope from a cactus!
Some cacti take years and years to produce flowers. These are really interesting plants!
Andy, I don’t know where you live but I’ve asked around and found out that they’re commonly found in the nurseries in most general stores in the United States.
Never seen a flower blooming cactus before, let alone in the winter
beautiful!

Well it’s beautiful!
It really is, I’ve always imagined cacti all being plain boring, prickly desert plants, looks like I was wrong after all
